I'm getting around this week...
I've been busy writing for the past while and by fluke several of the things I have been writing all ended up scheduled to go up this week. I hope you'll take a moment to drop by some of these other places where I am writing and leave a comment.
Dr. Greene's Perspectives Blog
I am the guest blogger all week this week on Dr. Greene's perspectives blog. My first post is called Why Is It Always the Mother?, which is almost the same title as a post I wrote here, but the content is different. So far there are no comments on it, which I must admit is a strange experience for me. I'm used to my wonderfully chatty community here.
Best for Babes
A lot of people sent me links to a certain plagiarizing sensationalist Globe and Mail columnist's article on breastfeeding recently. While I would prefer not to link to or discuss that article specifically, I happily agreed to write a guest post for Best for Babes on the Dr. Brian Goldman's White Coat, Black Art show on Mother's Milk, which was referenced in the Globe and Mail column. My post, entitled Is "Try Formula" the Answer to Breastfeeding Guilt?, tells my breastfeeding story within the context of my response to Dr. Goldman.
Care2 Causes
I'm always writing up a storm on Care2 Causes and you can subscribe directly to all my posts over there if you want to catch them all. I write on a variety of topics including real food, women's rights, health care, politics, and more.
One of the things you said in my reader survey is that you understand about Nestlé's unethical business practices and there is no need for me to write about it all the time anymore. So I haven't been writing as much about Nestlé here, but I did write a post on some of their recent actions over on Care2 Causes. My post is called Nestle Ignores Critics and Invents New Formula Marketing Gimmicks. I had considered doing a post on that here too, but mine wouldn't have been much different than what Amy put up on Just West of Crunchy -- the picture really does say it all.
Bad Moms Club
Did you hear that Sesame Street is a left-wing conspiracy? Read my post on that assertion over at the Bad Moms Club: The Bad Moms' Guide to Raising a Socialist.
Happy Reading!

Actually, I left you a comment on "Why Is It Always About the Mother?" It showed up as "anonymous", though I don't remember them ever giving me an option to input my contact info. Any-whoo, I thought it was a great post!
As for Sesame Street breeding socialists, that article made me smile.
As one of those who sent you the link to the G&M article, seeking your thoughts, I just wanted to thank you for the wonderful response to the CBC piece in your "...Answer to Breastfeeding Guilt" post. Really excellent work.
"Support the mother" has been my mantra ever since I had my son. We had a relatively easy and wonderful breastfeeding relationship - which, despite not having obvious challenges, still didn't "come naturally." Do people mean that to sound like breastfeeding will be like breathing? It's how it comes across sometimes. Anyway, I've held on to that mantra as I've strived to support my friends and family new to their roles as mothers.
Oh yes I forgot to add: I grew up on Sesame Street too! It's where I first picked up English. Seems I used to watch it as many times a day as it played, which back then, was up to 3 times a day. Oh, and wouldn't you know that I've been a "left-winger" ever since I was able to vote. I always thought I just cared about my community and feel like government has a role to play in supporting us all, but I guess TV made me so.
