Wordless Wednesday: Lego Birthday Cake

Lego Birthday Cake

This year's cake "masterpiece" for the Lego birthday party. I don't claim to be a skilled cake artist, but I do have fun with it.  Want to see past cakes? Pink Panther and Scooby Doo.

I love it! I admit I haven't been very creative with cakes lately, because my efforts at icing always end up looking like a kindergartener's rejected finger-painting, but I love the idea of using toys to decorate instead. I could totally do that!

How awesome! I'm with Meagan on the lack of frosting talent. My gimmick is using chocolate molds so the decorations always turn out recognizable lol. My cakes are never even close to as cute as this one though!!

Way to go! Homemade cakes are the best. It's not about them looking all "martha stewart" -- it's that you took the time to make a cake that is right up Julian's alley. He'll remember it and look back fondly at pictures when he's older :)
