What cool playgrounds! They don't make them like this in the US, at least not anymore.

Looks like you're all acclimating well in what I imagine is quite a different environment!

What a wonderful experience for your children!

I was totally blown away by the amount of graffiti in Florence, but the playgrounds were fun. Looks like yours are too.

That swing soooo beats the pants off a tire swing.

That looks like one cool playground!
Hope the family is adapting well :) and I'm sure you know this -- but you left at a fabulous time. Winter is back in our neck of the woods. Maybe not quite -- but it's COLD again!

Very interesting playground!
Woo bad it certainly looks like Berlin has quite a problem with grafitti - that's a shame! Makes everything seem much more dingy/dirty.

Honestly, I don't see the graffiti as a problem. The city seems to embrace it. In Ottawa, they remove it all and fine property owners if they don't remove it. Here it just gets left up. Some of it is ugly, but a lot of it is super creative and amazing too.

I was debating for days about mentioning the graffiti in a comment here--I didn't want to come off as rude--so I'm glad someone brought it up. Well, I'm sure its rude to ask, but I'm in the US and, it seems that when you're in an area where there's a lot of graffiti, you get a general sense of threat and foreboding, but it doesn't seem like you have that vibe in Berlin. Its is seen more as city art than as a crime there? How do you feel seeing so much of it? I just find it so interesting how the same thing (graffiti) can be viewed differently depending on who's seeing it.

And also re graffiti, I think it is where you are in the US. There is a lot of beautiful graffiti art.
