How to use a wrap
Wednesday, September 24, 2008
A long piece of cloth can be intimidating, but it also offers so many possibilities.
If you have a wrap and are feeling overwhelmed by it, if you have a hold that you like and want to try out other options, or if you are considering getting a wrap and want to learn more about what it can offer or figure out what length to get, then this chart of wrap instructions is for you. I discovered the chart when I got started with my first woven wrap (a Storchenwiege). It has written, photo, and video instructions for close to 50 ways that you can wear your baby with a simple piece of cloth, including back carries, front carries, hip carries, one shouldered carries, two shouldered carries, and more!
My favourites are the Rucksack with Tibetan Tie (for a back carry) and Forward Wrap Cross Carry (for a front carry). The one I wish I was better at is the Back Wrap Cross Carry.
Check it out and try out something new!

Hey,
Thanks for this valuable chart! I just got a Moby wrap and although I'm sure it will do a good job, I really wish I had seen this chart a little earlier when I was doing my research!
By the way, I think your blog is awesome, would you like to submit it to my website so more people can read your blog?
